The Hesalite version uses a polymer crystal and a steel caseback with a seahorse medallion. The sapphire version uses sapphire on both sides and shows the movement. Genuine water resistance is 50 m on both.

Checks before you buy
- Thickness. Genuine is 13.2 mm. Cases built on a 7750 run thicker.
- Subdial position. Three subdials sit at 3, 6 and 9 o'clock. On the genuine, 3 o'clock is the 30 minute counter, 6 o'clock the 12 hour counter, 9 o'clock running seconds.
- Bezel. The pre-2021 bezel carries the dot over 90. The 3861 bezel moves the dot beside the 90.
- Dial. Genuine dials are stepped. Printing is sharp under a loupe. Applied logo sits flat.
- Hands. The chronograph seconds hand should reset to zero. Slop on reset points to a weak movement.
- Weight and crown action. A hand-wound movement feels different from an automatic. Ask which one is inside.
What a replica does not deliver
No METAS certificate. No Omega warranty. No service network. Water resistance is not pressure tested at the factory. The coaxial escapement is absent, so the anti-magnetic rating does not apply. Reported rates for clone movements run from +5 to +25 seconds a day. No factory publishes a figure.
